Salsa Latina
I agree with our readers for including El Taco Rey’s burrito in the top three, but I put Salsa Latina’s version of the Avocado Pork Burrito, as the best in town. Yes, the recipe comes from the same family but it’s the red chile at Salsa Latina that makes the difference. Red chile is often underrated because it’s typically not as spicy as its green counterpart; it is, however, usually more pungent. This is the result of the smoky nuances of dried chiles that are reconstituted and allowed to simmer for hours. Pork is cooked until it is rendered limp and tender. The melt-in-yourmouth cubed pieces of meat practically are the same consistency as the creamy avocado. The combination of flavors is magic.
