CATAMOUNT TRAIL
Swap the city for the quaint village just west on U.S. 24 and discover a mosaic of nature. From Green Mountain Falls, this 6-mile, out-and-back trail starts beside a silvery cascade, ascending through a pine-scented forest. The vistas become greater with every switchback, then the path drops into the Garden of Eden. Wildflowers burst in the lush meadow, where massive granite boulders loom over awe-struck passersby. The destination is Catamount Reservoir, where you'll want to stay for a while, exploring the popular fishing beach with postcard views of Pikes Peak.
