TIME OUT FOR PARENTS

I dropped off my munchkin at Bear Creek Nature Center on a recent Saturday morning for one of their “lunch and learn” kids programs. For a mere $15 they entertained my not-so-tiny tornado for three and a half hours and fed him lunch. Stepping out of the nature center after drop-off, I felt invincible, like the world was my oyster, as if possibilities were limitless — completely and utterly free! He had a blast taking a nature hike, playing outdoor games, and cooking hot dogs and s'mores over the campfire. Both Bear Creek and Fountain Creek nature centers host quality, affordable family events, spring and summer camps, and even birthday parties.
