Welcome home ceremonies for the troops
One of the most touching parts of military life and of this community, welcoming home a family member from deployment. Excited children and families filling the stands. "Welcome Home, Daddy" signs. Hundreds upon hundreds of troops arrive, time after time. Sometimes Lee Greenwood's hand-on-heart singalong "God Bless the U.S.A." Doors open and troops march in through billowing fog. Toby Keith's pounding "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue." At attention. Then they're released to rush into the arms of their loved ones. Tears and joy. They're home.
